Responsible for operating a forklift truck to move materials in the plant, load, and unload trucks. Pulls and loads orders for shipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:
- Operate for trucks to supply all materials to can lines, presses, and slitters.
- Operate fork truck to move finished units from manufacturing area to warehouse to load trucks as required.
- Operate fork trucks to empty scrap and trash hoppers.
- Operate fork trucks to load and unload trucks as required.
- Daily maintenance of their assigned fork trucks.
- Using a production order, pull and assemble orders for shipment. This requires reading the order, determining number of packages of each item needed, and assembling all of the items for shipment. Identifying each package, as required, with proper information. Loading the order as required avoiding damage in loading, shipping, and unloading at the final destination. Accuracy of counts is extremely important, and accuracy of information to the shipping foreman when order is complete, advising of all items loaded and items not available for shipment.
- Sweep, clean, pick-up trash, general house cleaning.
- Will follow Company personnel and product safety requirements including standards such as those from SQF and internal GMPs.
- Must follow proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with State and Federal laws.
- Other duties as assigned.
