TBest Services is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic for one of our automotive clients in Rochester, NY. The successful candidate will demonstrate an adept understanding of automotive intricacies and a commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute maintenance and repair tasks on gasoline or diesel internal combustion engines, encompassing detailed activities such as adjusting crankshafts, fitting pistons, and servicing bearings.
- Oversee comprehensive overhauls of transmissions and differentials.
- Conduct regular checks and repairs on fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems.
- Facilitate the systematic inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical units, chassis structures, air brake mechanisms, and vehicle add-ons.
- Operate specialized equipment, including valve-grinders, lathes, and welding equipment, with precision and safety.
- Participate in the repair of specialized equipment.
- Operate a variety of motorized equipment with proficiency.
- Adhere to workplace dress codes and safety regulations.
- Prepare vehicles rigorously for Department of Transportation (DOT) assessments.
- Engage in other related tasks as necessitated by the role.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Mastery of automotive mechanic tools, methods, and techniques.
- Vigilance to safety and preventative measures customary to the trade.
- Ability to perform complex automotive repairs.
- Acumen in diagnosing mechanical challenges quickly and effectively.
- Autonomy in working from both structured guidelines and independent analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
- Physical robustness, dexterity and dependability.
- Valid New York State CDL Class A, B with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements is a plus.
- High school diploma or vocational diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of related automotive equipment repair experience.
- Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) protocols.
