Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a bus in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Transport passengers to and from designated locations on time and according to schedule.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus, including slowing down luggage as needed, while ensuring the safety of passengers.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in proper operating condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other drivers to share important information and updates.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus to ensure a comfortable environment for passengers.
- Provide information on routes, schedules, and policies as needed.
- Address and resolve passenger concerns and issues in a professional manner.
- Promptly report any accidents, incidents, or unusual occurrences to management.
- Participate in ongoing training and workshops to stay current with industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Valid New York State CDL (Class A, B) with Passenger Endorsement.
- 1+ years of bus driving experience.
- Air Brake Endorsement.
- Strong knowledge of New York State traffic laws and regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in varying weather conditions.
- Physical ability to assist passengers and meet the demands of the job.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
