We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Buffalo, NY to join our client’s healthcare team, providing exceptional care to the patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or doctor. This role demands a qualified professional capable of delivering basic patient care in a patient and calm manner. While it’s a challenging position, it is also immensely rewarding.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately record a patient’s medical history.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
- Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications, etc.
- Monitor patients’ condition, including fluid intake and output, and maintain accurate patient charts.
- Assist patients with daily activities as necessary, such as eating and bathing.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, clean and dress wounds, and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients’ families or friends, providing advice, comfort, and release instructions.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse or similar role.
- Ability to handle a variety of care tasks and work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures.
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology.
- Proficiency in MS Office and data entry.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate nature and ability to handle stress effectively.
- Successful completion of an LPN license program.
- Must have reliable transportation and a willingness to live or relocate to Buffalo, NY.
