As a Line Cook, you’ll prepare delicious meals according to the chef’s specifications, setting up stations for the menu, and assisting the executive and sous chef in their daily tasks. This role plays a key part in our client’s customer satisfaction and acquisition goals, making your contribution vital to the overall dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
- Preparing food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
- Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
- Answering, reporting, and following executive or sous chef’s instructions.
- Cleaning up station and responsibly managing leftover food.
- Appropriately stocking inventory.
- Ensuring that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
- Complying with nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintaining a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook, or Prep Cook.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to execute assigned tasks with accuracy and speed.
- Familiarity with industry’s best practices.
- A diploma from a culinary school is required.
