TBest Services is seeking to hire a Prep Cook for one of our clients in Baltimore, MD. This role requires a culinary enthusiast who is willing to showcase their skills both onsite and at high profile events. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule, making it perfect for those looking to balance their passion for cooking with other commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the chef’s prep list to ensure efficient daily operations of the catering team.
- Organize, label, and stock all ingredients on shelves for optimum efficiency and accessibility.
- Accurately measure, season, and prepare ingredients to ensure dishes meet our high standards.
- Undertake a range of cooking duties, from sauce reductions to preparing intricate entrees, tailored to event themes.
- Craft foundational dishes, ranging from salads to entrees.
- Efficiently set up workstations at various event venues or on-site, ensuring seamless cooking processes.
- Maintain exemplary hygiene standards at all event venues, ensuring the setups leave no trace post-event.
- Ensure proper storage protocols for all ingredients and prepared items.
- Fulfill other kitchen-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a prep cook, with a minimum of 2-3 years in the field.
- A solid understanding of health and safety standards, especially in dynamic event environments.
- Mastery over essential kitchen tools and utensils.
- Stellar communication and collaboration skills for event-based operations.
- A knack for performing under pressure without compromising on quality.
- Reliable transportation is advantageous.
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is beneficial; a culinary school background stands out.
- Possessing a Food Handler Certification.
