Description:

TBest Services is seeking a dedicated CNC Machine Programmer for one of our clients in Rochester, NY. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for creating and improving programs that run CNC machines. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and efficient operation of CNC equipment, resulting in the production of high-quality parts and components.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models to extract the information necessary to program and set up CNC machines.
Develop and produce efficient, effective, and reliable CNC programs using industry-standard software.
Use CAD/CAM software to develop machine programs.
Set up and test run CNC machines, making necessary adjustments to the program for accuracy and efficiency.
Work with the production team, machine operators, and quality control to ensure smooth operation of CNC machines and adherence to design specifications.
Ensure that all programmed parts meet strict quality standards and tolerances.
Optimize and modify cutting paths for efficient use of material and minimal waste without compromising quality.
Determine and program the appropriate tooling required for specific materials.
Troubleshoot machine problems and make programming changes as necessary.
Perform routine machine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and sharpening tools.
Maintain current knowledge of advances in CNC technology and programming techniques.
Work with Purchasing Manager to maintain raw material inventory levels.
Provide training and guidance to CNC machine operators as needed.
Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines during programming and setup processes.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical degree or certification in CNC programming, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
Previous experience in CNC programming for various machines (e.g. lathes, mills).
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Solid Edge, Fusion 360, and other industry-specific programming tools.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong understanding of metal properties, machining processes and tooling selection.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace by following all safety protocols.
Willingness to work weekend shifts and overtime as required.
Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Candidates with no or minimal English and fluent Russian/Ukrainian are welcome.
