As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations on the plant floor while increasing production and revenue. You will be expected to manage scheduling, oversee daily operating reports, and increase production by providing leadership and developing strategic plans. You should be a strong leader with an analytical mind and excellent interpersonal communication skills.

The general Plant Manager Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor all operations and processes
  • Prepare operating reports and budgets
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety regulations
  • Ensure all compliance needs are met
  • Manage scheduling for a fully operational team
  • Oversee daily floor operations
  • Develop strategies to increase productivity and production
  • Oversee all shipments, incoming inventory, and storage operations
  • Optimize productive time for employees by eliminating unnecessary processes
  • Practice conflict resolution among departments and employees
  • Report and track expenses to reduce costs
  • Analyze production metrics and data to determine areas to improve
  • Hire and train new employees
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs to ensure a safe working environment
  • Ensure all legal requirements, company safety procedures, and local and state health and safety regulations are me
  •  Provides direction, evaluation, motivation, training, and support to the facility management, supervisory and administrative staff;
  •  Lead and support Continuous Improvement using Lean principles and tools. Supports and/or implements systems and practices under the Company’s certifications (ITAR, ISO-9001:2015, IPC, UL 508A, etc.).
  • In conjunction with Warehouse, Production, Engineering, and Quality Assurance Managers, along with Director of Business Development, and Vice President of Operations – Warehouse Automation , responsible for the preparation of the operational budget for the facility including capital expenditures; analyzes the capacity of the plant identifying resources needed to achieve the targeted performance

The general Plant Manager Requirements and Qualifications are:

  • High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in business management, business, or related field preferred; Master’s in business administration or management a plus
  • 3 years’ previous experience as a plant manager, supervisor, or related position
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Strong management skills with the ability to supervise multiple teams
  • Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills
  • Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead
  • Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • In-depth knowledge of industry and its place in the market
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Excellent conflict-resolution and decision-making abilities
